Meet Our Founders
Dr Nousheen Zakaria
Dr. Nousheen Zakaria is an entrepreneur and an academic. She is the CEO and Co-Founder of Homework.pk, The Code It Company and the Managing Director of Out of Box Ltd., UK.
Dr. Nousheen has been actively involved in academics. She has taught as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Lecole and Textile Institute of Pakistan. During the course of her PhD she also served as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Leeds and taught various modules of Human Resource Management, Work and Organisations and Research Methodology to undergraduate students.
Throughout her academic and professional life, Nousheen has been closely associated with research and has fulfilled the role of Postgraduate Research Representative at various platforms. One of the most notable of her achievements as a student and researcher corresponds to her work for her PhD thesis. The thesis is a comprehensive study of formulation, integration and implementation of HR policies in financial firms. It contributed to her winning the Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Contribution to the Research Community (2014) as well as being nominated for Emerald Outstanding Doctoral Research Award, 2014.
She has had her paper accepted by and presented at various prestigious platforms including the British Academy of Management (BAM). Owing to her academic excellence, she shares space on The University of Sheffield’s website and Leeds University Business School’s website with other notable individuals as one of the lauded alumni.
Nousheen was a member of the Editorial Board for Working Paper Series at Leeds University Business School (LUBS) and White Rose University Consortium and has worked in the capacity of an Article Editor at Sage Publications. She attended and organised various conferences including the 20th EDAMBA Summer Research Academy in France.
In one of her interviews, she stated, ‘that I consider it a success to be able to provide equal opportunities and healthy working environment suited to local professionals’. She aims to provide others with an opportunity to grow despite their limitations and influence them to push their boundaries and progress within their personal and professional capacities. Hence currently she has people working in her company who are deaf and mute as well as single mothers and students who work part-time.

Omar finished his Masters in Advanced Computer Sciences from The University of Sheffield and brings a lot of technical knowledge to the company. He is a software developer by profession and entrepreneur at heart. Over the last 12 years, Omar has conceptualised and creating a number of start-ups; both in the U.K and Pakistan. Omar also developed a tele-health software for the NHS and then co-founded an IT company called 1 Tempus in the U.K. He then founded The Code It Company in 2014 to offer IT solutions to clients overseas. He is also involved in various innovative websites such as Homework Pakistan, BeKarachi, Weddified.co.uk, and ShadiTayari.pk.
Omar loves creating new and inspiring ideas and technologies to provide innovative solutions. He has integrated his expertise with his aesthetic abilities to provide visually appealing digital design solutions. Over the years, he has created unique and innovative work for some of the most leading local and overseas clients abroad. His ambition and passion has made him earn a strong reputation in the field.
Omar’s love for design also paved way to creating a state-of-the-art office for The Code It Company. Omar creatively designed each and every space of the office to provide an excellent work atmosphere for people to work.
